Angela received the following comments about phone consultations through lactationlady@live.com

RECEIVED MID-JULY, 2012
Hi Angela!
I just wanted to touch base with you after our phone consultation.  Things seem to be going much better, now that I'm not so stressed about getting her to feed on both sides and for a full 20 minutes.  I'm still feeding her on demand, which is between 1-3 hours, and everything seems to be going well.
Our doctor's appointment was good.  She wasn't quite up to birth weight but since we were only a week out our doctor was really happy with that.  He said to just keep doing what we're doing.
Thanks so much for everything, I look forward to seeing you again soon.  Your help was really invaluable, I will definitely refer you to any friends needing breastfeeding assistance, you were fantastic.

FROM :  Mom  of three and lots of problems with the first two:
I had over production issues, lots of mastitis in the past and inverted nipples. You were really curious as to how things were going to to go with me and  I just wanted to let you know, I did only end up getting mastitis once, in the 2nd week. my supply regulated after about 3 weeks my baby just turned 3 months and I am still nursing! Soooo happy!!!!!! I never thought I would be able to nurse a baby with all the trouble I had with my first two and now I am able to with my third! I am glad I saw it through. I am still using a nipple shield which is a pain, but he is worth it. My goal was to make it to 3 months, now I want to make it to 6. I am sure by then I will want to make it to 9 and so on. This baby is my last and I am just now starting to enjoy it. Anyway, just wanted to give you that update! Thanks for all your support and information in the beginning!

FROM : E. B.....Thank you so much for encouraging me this morning..I will try what you recommended!

From S.L.:  I want you to know how thankful I am for our conversation yesterday morning. Feeding my baby on one side has made a huge difference. It has also helped me to distinguish what is hunger and what is just her being fussy. We also tried a bottle tonight and it was a huge success. She took it from my husband, Tim, without question (or fussing). She drank almost a full four ounces, so that would make sense that a longer, one sided meal would be just about right.  Thanks again! S L

Email sent from a Grandmother who had Angela do a phone consultation with her daughter:
I just talked to my daughter and she said the baby is doing much better feeding.  The lactation consultant (Angela)after asking many questions suggested she put warm wash cloths on the breast to get the milk to come down.  She suspected that the milk wasn’t releasing easy in that one side.  Why the hospital staff couldn’t have listened better and came up with that same solution I don’t know.  I could tell my daughter was getting depressed about this yesterday and she was sounding so much better this morning after putting Angela's advise to work and getting good results. Thank you!

A note sent in the mail:
It was very encouraging to get your thoughts on my nursing issues as I was very discouraged at the time! Thank you so much again!

Angela was wonderful in helping me deal with my low milk supply issues. She led me to resources to help me cope with my grief at the loss of my breastfeeding goals. She also helped me find a way to keep breastfeeding my daughter as a part of my life without letting the nursing/supplementing/pumping cycle take over my life. I will definitely seek her advice again in any future pregnancies.

Angela is so wonderful!! She came in fully preparted to help with our BF issues and was warm and understanding and felt like an old friend from the minute she walked in our house! She "knows her stuff" and is passionate about helping moms. No matter what the outcome (successfully BF or not), she is understanding, accepting, and supportive; a great coach! Use her as an LC for sure!
