Thank you so much for teaching class tonight!
K.S. Thanks for the class, just wish I had taken it before I started pumping but it was still very helpful! From, AR LMSW Sounds like you are offering a great service to these new Moms... Way to go :) DCH Here is an email comment received in April.....
I am also blessed by that group and You, thank you for facilitating it. It is just so sweet to get together with other like minded women (I was so tickled to run into other cloth diapering mothers there!) and I appreciate what you do and provide. What a neat brain child, I am SO glad for BBB! We would love to read comments by dads........
From C and M
Thanks for all your help during our office visit!!! The Breast Balm is really working. Everything is going well so far!! From a mom in Minnesota.......... "I love the baby soap....thanks!" From a mom near Des Moines "I would highly recommend Angela’s nipple cream. It works wonders! I don’t know how I would have made it through those first two weeks without it." Angela has been helping women give birth for years, as a nurse, but is now offering her support as a BIrth Doula. She (Basking Babies) and Marty Wallace (Labor of Love Birthing Services) work as a team (L & B Doulas) .........would you like to share how Angela has assisted you as your labor support person/Doula?
Your comments about phone consultations are welcome here........
Angela received the following comments about phone consultations through [email protected] RECEIVED MID-JULY, 2012 Hi Angela! I just wanted to touch base with you after our phone consultation. Things seem to be going much better, now that I'm not so stressed about getting her to feed on both sides and for a full 20 minutes. I'm still feeding her on demand, which is between 1-3 hours, and everything seems to be going well. Our doctor's appointment was good. She wasn't quite up to birth weight but since we were only a week out our doctor was really happy with that. He said to just keep doing what we're doing. Thanks so much for everything, I look forward to seeing you again soon. Your help was really invaluable, I will definitely refer you to any friends needing breastfeeding assistance, you were fantastic. FROM : Mom of three and lots of problems with the first two: I had over production issues, lots of mastitis in the past and inverted nipples. You were really curious as to how things were going to to go with me and I just wanted to let you know, I did only end up getting mastitis once, in the 2nd week. my supply regulated after about 3 weeks my baby just turned 3 months and I am still nursing! Soooo happy!!!!!! I never thought I would be able to nurse a baby with all the trouble I had with my first two and now I am able to with my third! I am glad I saw it through. I am still using a nipple shield which is a pain, but he is worth it. My goal was to make it to 3 months, now I want to make it to 6. I am sure by then I will want to make it to 9 and so on. This baby is my last and I am just now starting to enjoy it. Anyway, just wanted to give you that update! Thanks for all your support and information in the beginning! FROM : E. B.....Thank you so much for encouraging me this morning..I will try what you recommended! From S.L.: I want you to know how thankful I am for our conversation yesterday morning. Feeding my baby on one side has made a huge difference. It has also helped me to distinguish what is hunger and what is just her being fussy. We also tried a bottle tonight and it was a huge success. She took it from my husband, Tim, without question (or fussing). She drank almost a full four ounces, so that would make sense that a longer, one sided meal would be just about right. Thanks again! S L Email sent from a Grandmother who had Angela do a phone consultation with her daughter: I just talked to my daughter and she said the baby is doing much better feeding. The lactation consultant (Angela)after asking many questions suggested she put warm wash cloths on the breast to get the milk to come down. She suspected that the milk wasn’t releasing easy in that one side. Why the hospital staff couldn’t have listened better and came up with that same solution I don’t know. I could tell my daughter was getting depressed about this yesterday and she was sounding so much better this morning after putting Angela's advise to work and getting good results. Thank you! A note sent in the mail: It was very encouraging to get your thoughts on my nursing issues as I was very discouraged at the time! Thank you so much again! If you have had a home visit with Angela and would like to comment about the service you received please post here...
Comments in the past centering around home visits have been posted in the Angela helps section These comments are from moms sent via email... From a Pharmacy Rep in Central Iowa /July 2012: Dear Angela, I want to thank you so very much for all your help. You gave me encouragement to keep going. I am still giving what I have. You definitely have a calling from God. You are amazing at what you do! I am blessed to have met you. God bless. Thank you....... From an ER nurse who works for the largest birthing hospital in Iowa: You are truly a blessing to us nursing moms and AMAZING at what you do. It is so great to know there is help out there where you don't have to wait 2 weeks because for a new nursing mom 2 weeks can make or break you. Thanks for all you do! You are wonderful! July 2012 Thank you note sent by mail from CB Thanks for all your help during my office visit. The Breast Balm is really working and everything is going well so far. I will let you know if I need anything else!!! Sent June 2012 from Jenna I invited Angela to our home after Emmanuel was born because I was determined to make breastfeeding work and give it my best try. I was struggling within the first week using a nipple shield which I had asked Angela to see if she would be able to get him eating without needing a shield. I had been told my nipples were too flat and that the shield was necessary, however it was such a pain to try to use while feeding. Turns out that wasn't true! After spending about an hour and a half with her help we were very successful! Ever since her visit we have been shield free! This is much more convenient for me and satisfyung for baby, I was also pleased with her advice in helping to get my milk supply up where it needed to be. I have enjoyed her breastmilk boosting tea (Breastmilk Boost Tea) and granola, and have had no problems with supply since her visit. I am happy to say that Emmanuel has been eating great and already gained almost 2 pounds! Thanks Angela! Angela: You did a great job! Thanks for doing that on such a short notice! (January 10, 2012) Amber Biga ([email protected]) 01/13/2012 11:54 Thanks you so much Angela for coming and doing a home visit when Maddux arrived! The one hour you spend in our home working with us on getting him to latch correctly and educating me on how our pump work has been a life saver.Without your assistance, nursing would be as successful as it is and I would have probabaly stopped weeks ago! Nursing is going wonderful NOW and I couldnt have done it without your knowledge and educational information on the subject!!! Thanks so much! Angela- Thank you for the email summary. There is a lot to remember with breastfeeding so the written summary helps with some of the small details I forgot. I did find out that the baby has a had a good weight gain – the doctor could barely believe it. I know it’s been those last couple feedings – shes gotten so much milk! I can’t thank you enough for your help. The way you coached me over the phone and at my house means more than you will ever know. I am healing up fast and no longer wince when she latches on. Breastfeeding is back to the fascinating bonding experience it was in the first couple days. I will give your name to anyone struggling with breastfeeding! Thanks again. C.and V. Another email: Angela, Thank you so much for coming yesterday. The information and encouragement you gave us what just what we were needing. J and C |
